A. STORAGE
Delta Deas Rowing Club (DDRC) has limited space for private rowing shell storage under the following conditions:
Storage Allocation – The DDRC Board, with input from the Facilities Manager, is responsible for assigning storage space. Other club members and employees may be consulted as needed. DDRC boats take priority over private boats.
Eligibility & Payment – Only members in good standing with a full-year membership may apply for storage. The term runs from April 1 to March 31. Fees must be paid by April 1, either in full or through installments (4 installments due April 1, May 1, June 1, July 1) Storage Fees – The DDRC Board sets storage fees annually. Indoor storage costs more than outdoor storage.
Liability & Insurance – Members must insure their own boats and oars. DDRC’s all-risk insurance does not cover private property. DDRC, its members, and Metro Vancouver Parks bear no liability for damage to private equipment. By using DDRC storage, members waive any claims against DDRC, its members, and Metro Vancouver Parks.
Minimum Usage Requirement – Boats must be used at least 14 times per year. Usage must be recorded on club sign-up sheets for scheduled and unscheduled rowing sessions.
Storage Location & Relocation – Storage space does not guarantee a fixed location. Boats may be moved with reasonable notice. If an owner does not respond within one week of a relocation request, the Board will arrange the move.
Non-Permanent Storage – Storage assignments are not guaranteed year-to-year and may be reassigned if club circumstances change.
Factors for Relocation/Removal – Storage changes are decided based on frequency of use, length of storage history.
Temporary Vacancies – If a boat will be unused for six or more consecutive weeks during the period between April 1-October 31, the owner must notify the Board. Unused storage may be temporarily reassigned.
Revocation of Storage – The Board may revoke storage for unpaid fees or policy violations. Written notice will be given, including the reason, available options (if any), and a one-week deadline for removal unless otherwise stated. Noncompliance may result in further action.
Security & Safety Concerns – Boat owners must inform the Board of any concerns about security or safety at the storage site.
B. SAFETY
Private Use Outside Scheduled Rows – Owners may use their boats outside scheduled rowing times but do so at their own risk. They must follow all regional, provincial, and federal boating regulations.
Use During Scheduled Rows – Private boat owners rowing during scheduled sessions must sign up and be included in safety ratios. Private rowing outside scheduled sessions must not interfere with scheduled club rows.
Cancellation/Refund Policy: We do not offer refunds once a program has started. As a non-profit organization, we invest significant time, effort, and resources to run our programs. By making a payment, you acknowledge and accept these policies.
