The Adult programs at Delta Deas Rowing Club are open to all those aged 19 and over who would like to transition from a Learn to Row program, or to continue rowing while improving their skills.  We offer a Recreational program for those athletes who are not currently interested in competing at regattas, but would like to be coached on technical skills and to row in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Our Competitive program is for those adult rowers who would like to take the next step into competition at regattas, and is designed to prepare athletes to reach their goals in rowing and racing. Adult Competitive rowers compete regularly at a variety of regattas from February through October each year. Most competitive adult rowers compete in Masters Events which start at age 27 (age 21 AA category in some races).
We encourage open rowing for our younger adults.

Masters race within age categories, often with two to three heats per event. Each heat could potentially have up to eight boats competing.
The age class for master athletes are as follows:
A   27-35                            D   50-54                  G    65-69
B   36-42                            E    55-59                  H    70-74
C   43-49.                           F    60-64
At the US National Championships, crews are able to race in composite crews, which allows for athletes from different clubs to race together.  Therefore, club and composite crews race in the "Open" Category".  Within this regatta, there are also events that are Club Specific, meaning all members of the crew must be from the same club.
We offer adult row times on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. year-round, and from 6:00-8:00 p.m. April through October, weather permitting.  These are unstructured practices with a coach on duty to assist with boating and technical coaching on the water.  Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm structured rows are held for competitive rowers, with specific workouts designed for enhancing endurance, fitness, and racing skills.  On Saturdays, our competitive program runs from 7:30-10:00 am and involves a longer, structured practice where athletes are assigned to crews.  Weekend recreational rows are on Saturday from 8:00-10:00 am and Sunday from 11:00-1:00 pm.  The weekend rows run through most of the year, weather permitting.  For more information about our club and the Adult Programs, please contact us at 604-946-3074 or info@deltadeas.com
